GOD MADE ONE OF HIS GREATEST DECISIONS WHEN HE CHOSE YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.God chose you to be a leader and not a follower. As a Christian, you stand for something. God has chosen you to be the person that will take a stand for good things. God chose you to be a helper to the hurting. In a world where people are selfish, God has given us the responsibility to ease the pain of those who hurt. Do your friends rely on you for advice and kind words? It’s amazing that as a Christian, your friends know that you are always there to lend a helping hand. I encourage you to be proud of the fact God chose you to accomplish great things for Him. El. YOUTH ABLAZE The New Life Worship Center Youth department, “Youth Ablaze,” has two subdivisions, Fire and Flame. Fire is comprised of the Sons and Daughters of Destiny, which are ministries geared towards the spiritual support of young men and women ages 13 and up. Flame is comprised of the Disciple Boys and Powergirls which are ministries geared towards the needs and spiritual development of young children. Each division is led by a staff of anointed and well-qualified workers. The vision is to promote a message of integrity, by way of ministering to them the importance of moral excellence with family, church, school, work and other countless responsibilities. Youth Ablaze is devoted to addressing the relevant issues that young people encounter everyday. The youth ministry of NLWC extends its open-door policy to any non-members who would like to benefit from the fellowship. FIRE Sons of Destiny/Daughters of Destiny Sons of Destiny is a ministry geared towards young men between the ages of 13-25 and Daughters of Destiny is geared towards young ladies ages 13-25. The ministries are dedicated to equipping young adults with practical principles from the Word of God that will help them to achieve both spiritual and natural growth, as well as reach their full potential in life. Their mission is to cultivate a radical group of youth who are not afraid to stand out and be world changers. The goal of the Fire group is to guide and encourage young people to live a pure and exemplary life. The ministries hold vast varieties of activities that are both fun and informational. Each month there is something fun and new. Sons and Daughters of Destiny strive to keep it real, keep it fun and keep it simple. FLAME Disciple Boys The Disciple Boys is a mentoring ministry for young boys ages five to twelve. Mentors are adult male volunteers from NLWC, who are charged with encouraging the development of a positive self-image among the participating youth. Through supportive friendship, selected activities and regular outings, the mentors seek to give their protégés the skills and knowledge necessary to become young men of strong moral character. Power Girls Power Girls’ ministry consists of every young lady between the ages of five and twelve and are members of NLWC. Their purpose is to glorify the Lord Jesus through encouraging the development of a positive self-image among the young ladies. It is also designed to provide workshops, activities, outings, skills and knowledge necessary to become young ladies of excellence. Youth Life Written for and by young people, Youth Life is a monthly newsletter that covers people and events at New Life as well as today’s youth issues. Staffers-ages 8 to 25-learn to write, take photos, do layout design and publish a newsletter; honing skills that can be used in church, school and beyond.
